N.O. Food

In New Orleans, we have a lot of traditional but unique food., such as coffee with chickory, po boys, and gumbo. It's difficult to explain N.O. food without including seafood and gumbo, but I will try. In New Orleans, we have a unique seasoning called 'Tony Chachares'. (pronounced to-knee sash-a-rees). We also have something called 'Slap Yo Mama' , and it is another cajun seasoning. (my mom doesn't use that one; I don't know why.) So you know that in NOLA (New Orleans LouisianA), we have some pretty unique foods. Ever heard of a beginet? No, it's not a fancy biscuit or type of tea. It is basically just fried pancake mix with powdered sugar on top. (shown here next to coffee with chickory) Another thing that makes New Orleans cuisine unique is who cooks it and how famous they are. We have a whole radio station devoted to good resturants in the city. We also have several T.V. channels, one of which features Emril Lagasse, who is famous throughout New Orleans
